The client approached QeCAD to develop a complete architectural model for a cabin-style residential project, starting from concept and progressing through LOD 350. The primary objective was to create an accurate 3D Revit model and generate a comprehensive set of construction-ready documentation, ensuring seamless coordination between the design intent and the on-site execution.
The project comprised the following key buildings and features:
3D Revit Modeling from scratch up to LOD 350
Development of detailed Revit-based construction documentation
Translation of architectural intent into precise working drawings
Coordination of drawings to support construction accuracy
→ Conceptual design intent and functional requirements.
→ Design preferences aligned with cabin-style architecture.
→ Feedback at each project stage (SD, DD and CD) to refine outputs.
To ensure a structured and controlled design development process, the project deliverables were divided into three distinct stages:
→ Schematic Design (SD): Initial massing, spatial layouts and conceptual modeling to establish the overall design direction.
→ Design Development (DD): Refinement of the Revit model with detailed architectural elements, material considerations and constructability inputs.
→ Construction Documentation (CD): Finalized, construction-ready 2D drawing sets generated directly from the coordinated 3D Revit model thus ensuring consistency and accuracy across all views.
This phased approach allowed for continuous client collaboration and minimized design revisions during later stages.
→ Developing a detailed model from scratch while maintaining design flexibility.
→ Ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple documentation stages.
→ Translating conceptual inputs into construction-ready details without design deviations.
→ Complete Construction Documentation (2D CD Set)
→ Fully coordinated 3D Revit model (LOD 350)
→ Drawings optimized for contractor clarity and on-site execution
