Hence, the &#8220;BIM Train&#8221; is missed!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But it&#8217;s time to make the change. This transition from CAD to BIM can be made by following the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>1. Educate:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first move you make before taking this big decision is to educate yourself. Do a deep research, read the reviews, ask your friends about this. Join the courses. Attend the webinars. Jot down all the points and functions that you need to perform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Try to find out the answers to questions like which software is best suited to the market you serve? Which will be the most cost effective? Which will be the most efficient? Be an expert on the understanding of all the options.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>2. Experience:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After educating yourself on multiple options, narrow down your list to the three best choices for your firm. Start taking the experience of each one for yourself. Most software companies offer the free trials of their full software package.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Download each one and experience the user interface for each one. Try all the three options with a small project. Experience how complicated it is to use and understand. End this step with a question that which software is best for you and for your workflow?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>3. Elect:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now it is time to make a decision and select the best option for your firm. Taking decision will be easier for you if you have spent a good time and invested well in step 1 and step 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Don&#8217;t make it distressing process. Decide and pick the best package suited for your firm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>4. Execute:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now it&#8217;s time to execute which is the most challenging step than the above step 1,2 and 3. Of course, this will take courage, consistency, and dedication and unfortunately no turning back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In step 3 you made a decision. You selected to proceed and integrate BIM into your systems and workflow. We are not giving up on CAD as many of our active projects are using CAD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The transition has not happened yet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Invest in the required training to learn the new software and pick a project. Use your BIM software from beginning to end on it and don&#8217;t give up on it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You will feel to switch back to the comfort of the platform that served you so well for all these years. Resist the thought and work through the process. With each new project, the transition will be made and eventually, your reliance on an outdated tool will be weaned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make this transition as a goal<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For a successful transition make a plan. Set the deadlines and develop action plans. Break down the steps and add them to your calendar.
